DementiaSG Talk and Short Films Screening
📅 20 September 2026
📍Ficus Lawn, Chinese Garden
⏰ 7:30pm – 10:30pm
On the eve of World Alzheimer's Day, the evening begins with a short sharing on dementia by Bernard Lim, Director of Advocacy & Communications, before we roll five films that together run approximately 100 minutes.
A Singapore Dementia Story is an anthology presented by Lien Foundation and Dementia Singapore, and produced by veteran producer Daniel Yun. Going beyond the diagnosis, these five short films celebrate the resilience, humour, and unwavering love of caregivers and persons living with dementia — spanning romance, comedy, thriller, and animation. In honour of World Alzheimer's Day on 21 September, the Cloud Pagoda will be lit up in yellow and purple — the colours of the global dementia movement.
Another Go | Directed by Gavin Lim | Starring Tan Kheng Hua and Peter Yu
A devoted husband cares for his wife as dementia slowly takes hold — until a shocking diagnosis forces them both to confront a truth they never saw coming. A tender portrait of love, sacrifice, and what endures when memory fades.
Really? | Directed by Jenny Ng
Alvin tends to his elderly mother with quiet devotion, answering her endless questions and keeping daily life in gentle order. Beneath their warm routine lies something unspoken — and a twist that reframes everything.
Two Ways to Forget | Directed by Raymus Chang
A corporate lawyer and a blue-collar worker each hide their dementia in very different ways — until a support group strips away their façades and an unlikely friendship blooms. A tender animated comedy drama about pride, vulnerability, and holding on. Featuring the voices of Bernard Lim and Suhaimi Yusof.
The Last Thread | Directed by Viknesh Silva
Retired soldier Rajan clings to pride and routine as his world shifts and blurs, visited by fragments of the past and a young girl no one else can see. A quietly devastating story about memory, family, and the bonds that endure.
What Day Is It? | Directed and written by Andie Chen | Starring Oon Shu-An and Alaric Tay
John and Sophia's love is measured in playful jabs and quiet care — until young-onset dementia casts its shadow. From shattering confrontations to gentle moments in a memory-laced bakery, their story moves between ache and laughter. Also Andie Chen's directorial debut, written by his wife Kate Pang.
