Reflection of the Artist seeks to bridge the gap between cultural understanding and the appreciation of traditional instruments. This interactive programme introduces audiences to the unique gestures and playing techniques of various traditional instruments, fostering deeper awareness and appreciation of their cultural significance.
Fringe Activities: Mirror
· Mirror your inner musician in this playful face-to-face encounter. Seated before a unique frame, you will meet a masked musician who becomes your musical reflection. As you grasp a specially crafted prop that mirrors their instrument, discover three simple techniques that transform your gestures into music. Watch as your movements inspire the musician to create a spontaneous piece.
ArtsEverywhere@CDC: Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra
The Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra (ACSO) is a Singaporean-based orchestra established in 2016 with the aim of championing the unique blend of Asian cultural music and symphonic works, celebrating its depth and artistry. The ACSO showcases the nation’s multicultural heritage through its innovative fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions, fostering a global appreciation for the arts.

Established in 2014 under the artistic direction of Jenny Neo, SCDT is a performing arts organisation that maintains a strong international presence, performing across Asia and North America to critical acclaim, while working to make Chinese dance more accessible to the wider public and nurturing emerging dancers.

Kyla & Yixin have spent the past few years sharing their love for Mandopop through numerous performances at various gigs. With every show, they strive to connect with the audience and bring the music they cherish to life. They’re excited to carry that same passion and energy into this performance!
